Puerto Princesa - Underground River | Palawan Bound

Happy 2018! Haven't posted in a while; haven't actually posted anything since the New Years. Well, I took a little break because I was feeling under the weather for quite some time. After we got back from the Philippines to be precise. But I'm all good now and I'm back with loads of vlogs and blog posts! Starting off with the highlight of our trip to the Philippines: Palawan! We booked a 3 days, 2 nights tour with JEJ Travel & Tours. They handled our entire itinerary (obviously), from flight tickets, to our sea view hotel, and all the other activities and tours that were included. Our island adventure started off at Puerto Princesa, the coastal city. Keep scrolling to see what fun stuff we did there while we were on that beautiful island, and/or watch my vlog! *muah*

After an hour flight from NAIA Terminal 4 to Puerto Princesa Airport, we were finally ready to begin the day! 1st thing on our list was to visit the famous Underground River. If you haven't already knew, it's actually one of the 7 Wonders of the world, and boy was it amazing! To get there we rode a 2-hour long drive in a minivan from the airport to the port. Complimentary lunch was included so we ate for about half an hour. There were lots of souvenir shops, water gears, and food stalls around the area. I left my water bag back in Macau so I had to buy one immediately for all my cameras. And of course, I had to start the tour with a glass of fresh mango shake. Yum!

We then hopped on a boat which brought us to the beach front where the Underground River was. They handed out audio devices which would be our guide inside the river. To tour the Underground River we had to ride another boat (no idea what they were called) and for some reason I was asked to sit at the very front! I mean, it was the best seat in the house, but also the scariest since everything inside the cave was pitch black. Our only source of light was a small flashlight used by our guide. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. My favorite part would probably be the cathedral (I think that's what it was called). I won't spoil anything because I really really REALLY recommend you to go there and see for yourself. 1 tip though, make sure to keep your mouth closed when looking up ;)

You might be wondering why there are no pictures of the Underground River here on this post. Well, 1st it was dark. And 2nd, I do have photos, but they're all on my phone since I didn't wanna risk breaking the camera. Follow me on Instagram: @kateeotd to see my other pictures and insta-stories of Palawan. The next post, El Nido, is my favorite so stay tuned!
