Streetstyle grunge, anyone? As shown in all my previous blog posts and videos, I am obviously into the whole retro, 80's-90's look. I've always admired old-timey fashion and last year I went for a bit more early 2000's. Around the time of scene + hiphop + emo + Avril Lavigne. Yeah, that era. Again, this look is one of the unpublished looks I had from 2017 and I thought of just posting them because it's better late than never, am I right? This photoshoot in particular is actually one of those shoots that I really liked. I felt edgy and cool, rockin' my bright tangerine beanie along with a shiny grey suede shirt. Even added a bit more attitude with my fish nets since they were a big trend last year. The high cut camel-colored Vans I'm wearing in the photos is actually one of my really old pairs of kicks. I haven't worn it in so long and I thought it really matched the look I was going for here. Are you currently loving old-school fashion as well?
First thing’s first, OMG! I cannot express how freaking excited I am to finally share this wonderful collaboration shoot I’ve had with these gorgeous ladies! Me and Charmaine (@alacharms) have been friends for two years, ever since I started blogging. But DAAAAAMMMMNNN, this was the 1st time we actually met. It was my 1st time meeting her bestfriend Gershwin (@justgershwin) too! They are literally the sweetest and nicest ladies I have ever met! My sister (@styleche) is just meh! Hahahahhahaha kiddin!

Bringing it back to old school days (or to last year when these photos were taken, haha!). If you’ve been following me on Instagram (@kateeotd) or even in YouTube (Katee Of The Day), then you might already have an idea on how crazy I am these past few weeks for anything, LITERALLY ANYTHING, retro and old school. Since these photos were taken a year ago, I guess it suggests that I’ve really been into that style for quite a while. I remembered that what inspired this look to come to life was actually my new pair of mustard yellow socks. Kinda weird, but if you open your mind enough, anything can be an inspiration (you’re welcome in advance).
"I'll have banana splits for breakfast, please." Today I'm going to share with you my experience eating at Joy Ride, where all the retro diner vibes come to life. Welcome back to another foodie review and for this post I'll take you back to retro years; the era where colorful Cadillacs, glowing jukeboxes, psychedelic neon light signs, and playing vinyls were considered normal everyday things. Joy Ride is located at The Boulevard on Level 1, just beside Studio City's newest attraction: The Dinosaur Hunt. Once you get in the gates near the big Studio City sign, it's very hard to miss. And you know me, the moment I've heard about this diner, I knew I had to do a foodie review right away! Okay, so I got a bit off schedule and ended up postings this more than three weeks later but.... Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Year of the dog! Wishing you a prosperous year ahead! *Whew* There. I said it. A lot of new things just came up especially for the vlogs so I totally forgot that I had these photos. No joke. At least I still posted it though, better late than never! Going back to CNY 2018, this year I had a long-weekend (4 day) holiday from work and decided to vlog everything I did during those days (keep scrolling to watch CNY RECAP vlog!). On one of those days, Adrian and I brought my younger sisters and his cousin to the fireworks area since none of them has ever tried it before. We went quite a few times in the past few years so we kinda knew how it works. You know, buy your selected firecrackers from the row of vendor stalls, get our own fire sticks (to light up our firecrackers), and basically just have fun! Thankfully enough no one got blown up and I'm glad that a lot of the pictures came out pretty despite night photography.
Quick question! What do you associate with the color green? I always see it being a color of envy, grouchy, or war. After years of watching cartoons and movies, green would always be the bad guy. Either their outfits, their hair, their lairs, their acid/slime guns; take 'Shego' in Kim Possible for example. The super-villain sidekick hottie is 50% black and green, the most generic bad guy duo color. Joker, a more famous character, has green hair. Heck, even Grouch from Sesame Street and the Grinch are full bodied green. BUT.... (yes, I am considering a big "but"), there are also a number of main/side characters that are in the green team and usually, they're the cool ones. Most obvious pick is Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls, I even had a time when I wanted to be her but my eldest sister demanded that she was Buttercup and I was Bubbles (Pshhh.... @styleche). Another cool-green-main character my sister fought for with me was Sam from Totally Spies. She was like the coolest, the kindest, and even the hottest of the three. So I guess, the color green shouldn't always be associated with evil, but more into being a bad-ass color theme. Which is what I felt like wearing this dark-olive green jacket from H&M.
Yeah you heard me! There is no such thing as being extra when you're Barbie. Happy National Barbie Day! I like how the International Women's Day (March 8) and Barbie Day (March 9) is just next to each other. Because to me, Barbie is a symbol of women, is she not? Have you ever had a phase when you were just so into playing barbie dolls? I had! In fact, I had a blonde, blue-eyed Barbie for three years named 'Cream' when I was around 8 years old. She had a house, loads of clothes and shoes, and a camera. Yes. A camera, barbie size! It's kind of how I see myself these past few years, so I guess, Cream was how I wanted to see myself in the future (the near future in this case). We were so alike that one of Cream's favorite thing to do was swimming.... and that was how I lost her.
"Leave a little sparkle wherever you go". The season is once again shifting. Cool winter breeze is finally toning down and making way for warmer days. In Macau's case, it gets more humid too. And that's the sign that SPRING IS HERE! I'm gonna be honest with you.... I hate spring season. In fact, it's my least fave compared to all 4 seasons. As mentioned, it gets really humid here leaving bodies to get sticky and oily which is really gross! It's also most likely to keep on raining, and knowing Macau's weather well enough, it will surely be unpredictable. Well that's enough about spring time, today I wanna talk about these lovely items I used for my spring fairy photoshoot! All from Bohome Macau. Keep scrolling!
Boho is my jam. The weekends just went extra magical after receiving this package filled with love from Bohome Macau. I, personally, am a super big fan of bohemian things, from trinkets to dream catchers, tapestries with floral and pastel mandala prints, fairy lights and ornaments; basically anything the screams "boho"! Yes, I know, I'm kinda mainstream. But I don't mind it. I truly believe that deep down in me there's just a nymph that comes out every now and then (along with my inner mermaid, haha!).
