Mean Green Jean Jacket

Quick question! What do you associate with the color green? I always see it being a color of envy, grouchy, or war. After years of watching cartoons and movies, green would always be the bad guy. Either their outfits, their hair, their lairs, their acid/slime guns; take 'Shego' in Kim Possible for example. The super-villain sidekick hottie is 50% black and green, the most generic bad guy duo color. Joker, a more famous character, has green hair. Heck, even Grouch from Sesame Street and the Grinch are full bodied green. BUT.... (yes, I am considering a big "but"), there are also a number of main/side characters that are in the green team and usually, they're the cool ones. Most obvious pick is Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls, I even had a time when I wanted to be her but my eldest sister demanded that she was Buttercup and I was Bubbles (Pshhh.... @styleche). Another cool-green-main character my sister fought for with me was Sam from Totally Spies. She was like the coolest, the kindest, and even the hottest of the three. So I guess, the color green shouldn't always be associated with evil, but more into being a bad-ass color theme. Which is what I felt like wearing this dark-olive green jacket from H&M.

To be honest, green isn't one of my favorites. I used to find it so hard styling green clothes, makeup, and even army/camouflage prints which have big patches of green. You have to understand, I was really dark in my younger years and wearing anything green made me feel so insecure. But as I got older I realized that there are more ways to wear the aforementioned color. And it starts off with choosing the right green shade. For my current skin tone, 'olive' and/or 'pickle' green would always be my 1st choices. I have (and used to have) quite a few clothing pieces in those specific colors ranging from maxi dresses, jackets, and skirts. When I'm feeling super extra, I pop on my 'neon' green skirt which I have no idea where I got from. For makeup, I started liking 'seafoam' and 'mint' sparkly eye shadows. I guess I'm just saying that I learned to like the color green a little bit more as I grew up.

As for the inspo of this outfit, I wanted to look like Shego and definitely, I felt like such a baddie just like her. Add a green jacket over an all-black outfit, a pair of aviators, and lastly with a pair sexy velvet boots. I know I strayed onto a weird topic, but what's your thoughts on the color green? Do you like it or do you loathe it? And because I became quite dedicated to this topic, below is a table to help you learn the different shades of green. You're welcome!

  1. I also feel the same way about the color green. I don't have many green pieces of clothing besides jackets and a few camo print items. Love how you styled the jacket!

  4. Strangely enough, I noticed your boots and jacket at the same time. I guess it's because I'm a boots lover haha

  5. I love clothes, but I have a discrepancy in the shoes, it shortens her legs in some outfits because of the height, I would recommend nude shoes.
