Ilocos | A Weekend In The Philippines

Hey guys! Today I'm doing a month old throwback during my 3 days stay in the Philippines. Click the link if you haven't seen Part 1 yet (Cavite & QC | A Weekend In The Philippines). In between days I got to visit Adrian's province: Ilocos. Not really sure if "Sur" or "Norte", but it was really pretty. We left Cavite at 1:00 a.m. and drove all the way to Ilocos, arriving at around 8:30 a.m. Yep! The drive was that long. The roads were dark and often bumpy, our driver(s) were kinda GTA-ing the whole ride, and we didn't really know how to sleep comfortably in a minivan. I remember waking up at some point, and when I looked out it was pitch black. Only the high beams from the vehicles is what you'll see, and a few glimpses of trees and stables. I was terrified and could not at all go back to sleep!

We had a little 7/11 stop over around 5:30 a.m. to get some breakfast and coffee. I got a siopao because it looked delish! Another three and a half hour drive and we finally arrived the family's farm house. Don't get me wrong, I've never actually been or stayed at a farm before so I seemed like a wondering alien around there. Not to mention how everyone (except us) were speaking in their dialect, felt like I was in a different world! We attended the baptism of Adrian's niece then went on a trip to Vitalis Villas. This was the highlight of my whole weekend trip! A little Santorini that is so beautiful I almost didn't want to leave.

They had pool sides facing the ocean and steps that lead directly to shore; all the rooms/villas felt like you were actually in Santorini; and I had a DIY halo-halo buffet which satisfied all my cravings with one spoon full! The best was probably that we got to try zip-lining across the ocean. It was much longer and higher than the one in Boracay but I didn't feel scared at all (seriously, no joke!). I kinda wanted to do it again too! We left at around early evening, did a few stopovers, then I fell asleep. Like deep, deep sleep. When I woke up at 10:00 p.m. it was about time to leave and head back to Cavite.

That's about it for my first time being around farm-life. What happened during my few hours in Ilocos was pretty fun and I really miss Vitalis Villas, would probably go back next time!
