Trip to the Zoo

"I could be a wildlife photographer" was what I was thinking of while we were at the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. It was just one of those days when we suddenly thought of exploring Hong Kong again with these two (follow them at Instagram @giisanchez15 & @fjlubos).

Our original plan was venturing out somewhere far like Stanley Beach, but since Adrian and I had to come back to Macau early, we could only stay for a few good hours. Having no plan B whatsoever, we were literally searching for nearby places to go to while we were on the ferry to Hong Kong (talk about last minute).

Finally we ended up with two choices: Ryze or the Zoo. 1st thing we did, however, was have brunch at Yum Cha enjoying adorable little dim sums and trying new flavors. We rode the MTR after escorting the two to Ibis at Sheung Wan until we've reached Central. Having decided to go to the zoo,we walked up passing by Lan Kwai Fong, up to Albany Road and finally reaching our destination.  I think this a good time to mention that we just had dance practice 2 days before and I was suffering from so much body pain, specifically the legs. It was hell hiking up to what I'm sure was already considered as a mountain.

The walking did not stop there, turns out the zoo required so much more walking too. I had to man up! We saw monkeys, turtles, and lots of birds. All that time I was just hoping not to see any snakes, so the reptile area was a like a danger zone to me. Luckily there wasn't any. Here's one thing though, I've never actually imagined Hong Kong having a somewhat hidden zoo up a hill. It just always seemed like a busy city but I guess you won't know any better until you actually explore. Hoping for more random adventures to come!
