Exploring Ubud | Bali Moments

Ubud is no doubt one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to! Every street and corner looks absolutely stunning and picturesque. A lot asked me when I got back from Bali "how come you didn't go to the beach as much?" and I responded with a very confused look on my face. To be honest, I never saw Bali for it's beaches. I admit, there are a lot of beautiful beaches, but personally when I hear "Bali", rice terraces, street art, burnt orange temples, and holistic yet hipster designs comes to mind. And I think Ubud is the perfect example of that!

A day and a half is definitely not enough to explore and do all the fun stuff at Ubud, but we tried our best to do as much. I had so much to choose from that I narrowed our itinerary down to 3 main spots. Prioritizing which ones were the most applicable as a 1st timer around Ubud. And because of that lack of time, I promised myself that I will surely come back to Bali and do even more fun things and explore more of beautiful Ubud!

Wanna know which places got in my list? Keep scrolling to find out! Provided my whole itinerary just for you ;) Also, I prepared a daily vlog specifically for the lovely Ubud. Watch it now on my YouTube Channel (down below).

See what other fun stuff we did at beautiful Ubud! Daily vlog below:

I vlogged the whole Bali Trip, check it out to see what other fun stop we did during our trip.

MY ITINERARY:

09:30 a.m. - Woke up, had breakfast at our hotel, went swimming, and prepared to head out! We left our hotel around 11:15 a.m.

*Our breakfast orders*
- Mie Goreng
- Strawberry Pancakes
- 2 Fresh Watermelon Juice
- 2 Balinese Coffee

11:45 a.m. - Arrived at Bali Swing and bought 2 'walk-in' passes and stayed until 02:00 p.m.

*We took the BALI SWING ACTIVE PASS which already includes:*
- Unlimited time on all 9 swings
- Applicable for other attractions such as the bird's nest and the rocks
- Already includes a complimentary local meal
- Complimentary coffee, tea, and water

02:00 p.m. - Went back to our hotel, freshened up, rested for about 20 minutes and left again. Took a 15-20 minutes walk to Pura Taman Saraswati.

02:20 - 03:30 p.m. - Took pictures around Pura Taman Saraswati and chilled at the temple's Starbucks. We got tired from our long walk and it was really hot so we needed a short coffee break.

03:30 - 04:45 p.m. - We did a little shopping at the Ubud Art Market. Mainly for souvenirs. I was not happy about this experience.

04:45 - 05:00 p.m. - Walked back to our hotel before sun down. Ubud streets tend to get really dark at night so we didn't want to walk during those times.

We had dinner at our hotel around 07:00 p.m. and just stayed-in our room since we really needed to rest. "Kingsmen 2" was the movie choice of the night and we called it a day by 11:00 p.m.

*Our dinner orders*
- Satay Chicken
- Veggie Burger
- Bintang Beer
- Banana Strawberry Shake

If you've been reading my travel blog posts since before, you might've noticed that we didn't do as much activities this trip. Our visit to Bali was more of a detox trip since we were both really stressing out a few months before. It was the ultimate de-stresser we needed so we focused more on getting some actual rest away from home.

Out of everything we did, my favorite part was Pura Taman Saraswati. The temple is breathtaking. It was worth the long and tiring walk we did from the hotel to Ubud center. I also like the Bali Swing because it basically fed my Instagram for the dream Bali travel pics I see from other bloggers I follow. I just didn't like how much time is wasted purely because of queues. I'm happy that I finally got to buy the round woven bag, and that I finally got to try Balinese coffee.

As I've mentioned earlier and in my previous post, the worst part has got to be our shopping experience at the Ubud Art Market. I hated how much they marked-up the price of everything they sell. Might not ever go shopping there again even if I come back to Bali. But disregarding that, I still love Ubud! I've never seen a place so artistically and aesthetically pleasing everywhere.

Do I recommend Ubud? Heck yeah! 99% that's for sure! Stay at least and visit more sights such as the Monkey Forest, or do other activities such as River Rafting. For my next blog post, we move to Canggu and Kuta for our last day in Bali. Till then, Ciao mi loves!
